Today what I want to introduce is Chinese Traditional Music . Chinese Traditional Music dates back to the dawn of Chinese civilization with documents and artifacts providing evidence of a well-developed musical culture as early as the Zhou Dynasty.

Chinese Traditional Music always has various instruments, they are traditionally divided into categories based on their material of composition: metal, stone, silk, wood, animal skin, bamboo and so on.

The most vital part of the music should be the imperial music, firstly established in the Qin Dynasty, was greatly expanded under the Emperor Han Wu and charged with supervising court music and military music what folk music would be officially recognized.

It seems that collecting folk music is a hobby to every emperor, almost them took it seriously, sending officers to collect songs to inspect the popular will. In ancient China , the position of musicians was much lower than that of many classes, though music was seen as central to the harmony and longevity of the state.

Fortunately, nowadays, both the Chinese Traditional Music and musicians have a new lease of life.
